Honda Repair: 1995 Honda Accord Door Lock Actuator Wiring, honda accord, different company

Question
Hi Steve,

I am in the process of replacing the driver's side door lock actuator in my 1995 Accord LX Coupe. Installation has gone fine and the new actuator works perfectly, the only problem is that the wiring attached to the new actuator is a little short doesn't reach the wiring harness on the door unless the harness is detached from the car door and stretched out tight. Is there an extension that I can buy for this? Is it even necessary that the harness be attache to the door? I've tried looking online but have no idea how to determine what type of wiring harness I would need.

Thanks

Answer
I don't know of any extension that would work for this. It is possible that you have gotten the right part too.
If I were you I would recheck everything and make sure that it is routed properly. If it is and it is still short I would either send this one back and buy one from a different company or just find a place to ziptie it to the door. It is important that it is secured because the window could come up and catch it.
