Question

Travis I bough a nice 1990 Honda accord for my son, unfortunately he run it with a broken hose and overheated what are the recommendations in this case, have to overhaul the head totally, replaced t/belt,water pump and hoses of course,it has aprox. 200k miles.Any advised will be greatly appreciated.
thank you very much.

Answer
Leo, water in the oil is a sign that the head gasket has been damaged. So you want to replace the head gasket, mill the head no more than .005, timing belt, water pump, cam seal, and if needed the belt tensioner pulley. Timing and idle needs to be set perfectly after this service. The head should not be damaged, so, the complete overhaul is completely your decision.
