Honda Repair: 2002 Honda cr-v a/c, freon refrigerant, clutch unit

Question
I just replaced the compressor and clutch unit because the bearings went out of the clutch and locked up the compressor. However I have not been able to take it into the dealer to have it evaced or recharged yet. So there is no freon in it will this keep the clutch from engaging when i turn on the a/c even to max? Or is there something else that may have blown when the compressor locked up besides breaking the belt? Thanks

Answer
Andrew, i dont really understand what your question is? If the A/C is on the compressor is going to engage. If there is no freon/refrigerant/coolant in the lines then it will work, but, not to the effectiveness that your are seeking. So dont turn on the A/C until you get it charged. No nothing else would have been damaged besides the belt and the compressor itself.
