Honda Repair: 07 Honda Civic LX ac and CEL question, emissions systems, honda civic lx

Question
Travis N,
Thanks for being here.
2007 Honda Civic LX 4dr Sedan 1.8L 4 banger
AC was intermittently cooling, shop replace expansion value and dryer.
Now it cools but not as good as before

I left the repair shop with a CEL for "check emissions systems", it's a yellow non-blinking light and is a basic circulation flow diagram shape.

What can I do to get my cold air back and is there some obvious reason I have this CEL on.

Thanks,
Rod

Answer
Rod, if the CEL came on after you had the repairs done y not take it back to the shop? Most shops will troubleshoot this for free. More than likely the shop caused this and they should repair the problem.

As far as the cold air issue. I don't know what to tell you about that one. AC repairs at discount shops can be just that, 'second rate'. My recommendation would have been to take this to the dealer to begin with. Call the dealer up and find out how much this service is and compare this to your 'second rate' shop quote. I would assume close to the same prices.

DO NOT purchase the $35 refresh kit from a local auto parts retailer. You will have this similar problem.
