Honda Repair: Overheating wheel, 2004 honda odyssey, honda odyssey

Question
QUESTION: Our 2004 Honda Odyssey recently received new tires (I don't know if this is pertinent) and about a month later, we find that the car is shuttering - like the alignment is bad.  The left rear wheel squeaks a little and gets wicked hot.  The silver part that you can see through the hubcap is too hot to touch but all of the other wheels are not hot.  We don't want to drive it as it is.  Any ideas?  What sort of shop should I take it to?  the dealer, a brake shop like Midas?

ANSWER: Mike, usually this is a brake problem. And could be the rotor, pads, bearings, etc. I would take it too a shop that you trust. Or the dealership. Whichever there needs to be an inspection done asap!

QUESTION: You are right, the dealer wants to change calipers, rotors, pads, shoes, also noticed front brakes need replaced - $1800

Could this have been caused by some done wrong when we got new tires about a month previous?

Answer
Mike, any brake job company can perform this for you. The reason i wanted the dealers opinion on the repair is that they are very precise on their preliminary inspections. $1800 - a little steep.? I agree...

So shop some repair companies. And you just need to replace the rear rotor/drum, pads/shoes. Depending on your make/model. Midas can do this for you too for way less than 1800. Most brake job companies charge around $100 per axle - meaning both sides front or rear.
