Honda Repair: Honda Civic, blown head gasket, coolant hose

Question
I have a 2003 Honda Civic Ex 4 door 1.7L with about 107,000 miles on it. Quick history, the car blew a hose, I believe a coolant hose of some sort, about 4 to 6 months ago. And when that hose blew it sprayed a milky white substance all over my engine. Immediately after that happened the car would overheat. So, I had it looked at and Firestone diagnosed it with a blown head gasket. I had someone work on it and they seemed to believe that it wasn't a blown head gasket. They fixed the hose and the overheating ceased. I have been driving the car ever since then, about 4 months. I believe the head gasket may still be blown and I was wondering if it was worth fixing?

Answer
Josh, yes it is worth fixing. And you need to fix it asap. Because you have basically put a band-aid on the motor which is a temporary fix. The blown head gasket will never go away until you fix it. If the head gasket gets any worse you can damage internal components in the cylinder head and/or damage the lower engine block.
