Honda Repair: civic brakes, rear brakes, wheel cylinders

Question
Soft pedal.Replaced rear brakes. replaced rear cylinder, plus lines bleed no pedal. replaced master cylinder no pedal.Yes i benched bleed cylinder,no brakes. replaced buster still no brakes.Only thing left is valve on fire wall. Owner now tells me it never had good pedal.

Answer
Bob, wow thats alot of stuff replaced and still no pedal. The valve on the wall is the proportioning valve. Which needs to be bled there first, then RL, RR, FL, FR.

Never had good pedal? Ummm... what else is the owner not telling you? Did he/she drive over something? Damage the vehicle?

If still no pedal after this. I would suspect a faulty new part installed. Either the rear wheel cylinders are leaking and you should be able to hear the leak. Then the master cylinder could be defective. (Yes. I have had back-to-back 'bad' brand new parts.) So if after that still no pedal? Then you have a damaged brake line "somewhere" and you need to find the leak and repair the line.

Brake systems on these Honda's are very simple especially with the disc/drum setup. So there cannot be alot of room for error due to the simplicity. I hope this helps you.
