Question
Okay so i live in chicago and i have a 1994 honda accord lx and all
summer my car was running and starting fine. So the first real frost hit and
I tried to start my car n all I heard were clicks at first so I kept trying to
start it. Eventually I heard nothing while turning the key and I saw smoke
come from my steering wheel region. After that I left it alone for the day
went bought a battery(which I needed anyway) thinking it'll solve it and still
I get no clicks or cranks while turning the key what could be the
problem!!!!

Answer
Dennis, "smoke come from my steering wheel region." Ummm... I would say that your problem is residing in the steering column area. Cranking and cranking the starter and the ignition switch failed. Ignition switches are common for failing considering the lifetime of the vehicle the ignition switch is activated 100's of thousands of times. Basically the only thing that could create a "smoke" would be the 12+ wiring at the back of the switch. Fairly easy to replace this. 2 screws and disconnect 2 electrical plugs. Remember to disconnect the battery before doing any type of electrical repair yourself.
