Honda Repair: 1996 Honda Accord, dielectric grease, temp gauge

Question
Was having overheating problems and replaced the t-stat. Old t-stat was sticking, but now I have noticed that my cooling fan works intermittantly. Usually always kicked on once the temp gauge reached a little over halfway, now it does not do it every time. Relay or temp sensor? Thanks.

Answer
Lynus, I think there is 2 sensors too choose from. But before you do that check the wiring connections at the fans itself. Sometimes these connections can get dirty and lose connectivity with debris. Disconnect and physically inspect. Blow em out with air or your lungs. If you have some dielectric grease now would be an ideal time to use. There are 2 relays there as well which are just as common to fail as the sensors are. So if it were up to me replace the relays first after cleaning the connections. They are the least expensive vs. the sensors. Then move onto the sensors.
