Honda Repair: hesitation, spark plug wires, fuse boxes

Question
Hi,  I have a 94 Honda accord that hesitates when it's warmed up as if it wan't to cut off.  I changed the fuel filter.  It also has a intermediate low humming sound when I turn the car off. It goes on and off maybe 20 mintues after I turn it the car off.  Hopefully it isn't the fuel pump.

I also have a 2000 Honda odessey which the radio and cigarette lighter has gone out.  I looked at all 4 fuse boxes and I found a radio fuse which is good but havent found any cigarette lighter fuses at all.  Is there another place where more fuses or a reset button may be.  I checked the right passenger box, the left driver box, the two boxes under the hood.

Thank you in advance.

Answer
Hyer, I believe the low humming sound is your cooling fans continuing to run after the vehicle is turned off. Completely normal for this vehicle. The fans will activate on/off even with the key out of the ignition for proper cooling control. Pop the hood open after the engine is warmed up and exit the vehicle like you would normally do. Watch the fans turn on/off.

Good call on replacing the fuel filter. Now complete the tune up by replacing the distributor cap and rotor, spark plug wires, spark plugs, and air filter. This is essential and should be followed through on a consistent basis at 30K intervals. This should get rid of your hesitation. If not take the vehicle to Honda or a trusted and experienced Honda mechanic and have the timing and idle evaluated and set properly.

2000 Honda Odyssey - no reset button for this fairly common problem. If you are using this plug with a power inverter or other accessory it is common for fuse #9 to burn. Location (above the passengers feet area,) is the best description i can give you for the area.

***Reference your users manual for future issues about the location for fuse blocks. Drivers side under dash fuse/relay panel. Fuse 8 feeds the accessory relay. Fuse #9 feeds the sockets and audio unit and may be part of the relay assembly. They are not lighter sockets. If you are trying to use them for such you will blow the fuse. F9 is only 15 amps. It also states in your user manual to not use them for actual cigarette lighters.***
