My '89 carbourated Accord is running very rich and would run at high idle, even in warm temperatures upon starting.  This car has California emissions.  Could this be an O2 sensor problem?

Jay, i would first adjust the timing and idle. If problem still persists then this is an issue with your carbs, or other major fuel system component. You should also consider a major tune-up every 30K. Spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, distributor rotor and a fuel filter. This will increase the longevity of the motor and continue to provide great gas milage.
