Honda Repair: 2000 Accord Staring Problem, staring problem, distributor cap

Question
2000 Accord periodically spins over but does not start.
Replaced battery. I removed a plug wire from distributor cap
and held it to see if it was getting fire and it started. My
son read that a fuel relay may be the problem. Please help

Answer
Ken, if you are having a problem with the car starting i would suspect the starter. But, you did not enter that information in your description. The starter could be having an issue with low voltage due to a corroded main wire. Or, the bendix could not be performing correctly. Whichever have the starter tested to see if this is the problem. Then have the alternator and battery tested too. Since the starter, alternator and battery are connected in 1 circut so to speak. If you have done this already then we are off to other areas. Fuel pump and fuel pump main relay. Also replace the filter too. I have read alot of complaints about your same issue and this is what everyone is doing to fix the problem.
