Doug, find out what the check engine light is and fix it. Take it to an auto parts store like schucks or autozone and they will check them for free. Even though your check engine light is not on when you get it read does not mean that the code is not stored in the ECU. The code will be there. Or you can do some work on Google on how to do this your self (at home). Check out the code, fix the problem, no more worries about your car starting with the check engine code.
