Honda Repair: 95 Honda Civic, power steering pump, timing belt

Question
Since June 1 I have replaced the battery, alternator, belt, distributor and timing belt.....since the timing belt was replaced I am hearing whirring noise coming from the area of the alternator...car seems to drive fine but the noise is disturbing...could they have not put something back correctly?

Answer
Karen, when your timing belt was replaced did they also replace the water pump and cam seal? This should be done on all timing belt replacements for Honda's. Reason being they are inexpensive to replace and when you are replacing the timing belt they are right in that area. It is also possible that replacing the timing belt and covers they possibly did not adjust your alternator belt or left something loose. Possibly your alternator is failing? Have it checked for free at alot of places that do auto repair. You also have a pulley for your A/C pump (if you have A/C.) This could be the cause and the power steering pump could be making a whining sound too. Belts should be inspected and adjusted properly. Start there.
