Honda Repair: Civic VSS, vehicle speed sensor, volt meter

Question
Okay well I own a 2000 HONDA Civic EX. Yesterday I changed the Vehicle Speed Sensor. It worked great and registered my speed for that day. The next morning on my commute to work I saw that it wasn't working. Basicly when i turn the key the wand moves from the 0mph to the 20mph and wont work. HELP.Tomorrow im picking up my new VSS. Any ideas on how to not ruin this one. The VSS costs 100.00 and cant afford to replace them on the daily.

Answer
Before you go and buy another vss, check the wiring harness real good. and check for any bad or lose grounds. there could be a bent pin in the connector or damaged wire. if you have access to a volt meter i would check resistance to and from the vss. i doubt the sensor is bad unless something internal has damaged the sensor. pull it back out and see if its damaged. Let me know if the info was usefull or not. -Phil
