Honda Repair: 1992 Honda Accord, tune ups, 1992 honda accord

4 cyl, 278k, tran rebuilt 263k. 2 mo ago problem started. Start off at a stop sign motor dies almost out for a few seconds and slowly  revs back up to normal. Has went for days, even weeks without doing it. Have days when it does it 3 or 4 times. Had checked 3 times but still have same problem. Always well maintained. Car still runs & drives very good. Hate to junk it. Help!!!

Bob, if you have been doing regular maintenance to your vehicle on a fairly regular basis, I assume this includes tune-ups? Spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, evaluate timing. The problem you are having sounds like a fuel pump. Have the fuel pressure system evaluated. Or you can do it yourself in your garage. If you turn the key to the 'on' position you should hear or feel your fuel pump activate. Turn your car over and start it, over and start it, -off and on off and on- until you create it to fail. Turn key to the 'on' position and listem for fuel pump.
