Honda Repair: 91 Honda Civic Si, honda civic si, tank fuel

Question
QUESTION: Hi Experts,
as the heading says i have a 91 civic Si, the other day i was driving and and the engine kept getting sluggish, when i stopped and checked the engine and restarted, every time i touched the gas the engine stopped, i thought it maybe the fuel line so i changed the fuel filter, reconnected the hoses and tried again. still nothing i opened the fuel output and no gas nothing even in the filter i turned all the additional electrical components off and turned the ignition key and could hear the pump. i pulled of the fuel input from the fuel filter and and tried again and not an ounce of gas came out. please HELP!

ANSWER: Emiel, replace your fuel pump. Remove the lower part of your backseat. And then you will see the window to the in-tank fuel pump. Just because you can hear your fuel pump activating doesn't necessarily mean that it is working 100%. Or providing the right amount of fuel pressure for your fuel injection. I assume your car has 100K+ miles on it and should be replaced at 120K anyways. You were close on the fuel filter though :P

QUESTION: Hi Travis, your response partially fixed the problem, when the car starts, it idle's for about 3-5 seconds then shuts off also if you touch the gas when it does start it shuts of immediately, it has a new pump, and new filter. Along with the above when i take of the fuel input from the filter, gas is comes out also gas is in the pipes after it shuts off aswell, thanks Emiel

Answer
Emiel, new fuel pump too? Pull back the passenger side carpet so it exposes the ECU. There is a window on the ECU with a red LED light. Is it flashing when you have the key turned on? If so count the flashes. Then look online for "trouble codes" for your car. I think now that your injector box might be bad. There is a code for this. Or the injectors or just one of the injectors might be faulty?
