Honda Repair: Brakes, brake caliper piston, honda crv

Good Morning Ara....
? I have a Honda Crv 2001 4wheel Drv.Do I need to replace pads & rotors or just pads...I have 77000 on SUV I bought in Feb. runs great..not shimmying, no metal to metal...fluid was low..I added fluid...I feel they could be tighter & I can hear a low groan when I depress brakes...Thanks in advance for any answer....I hear Les Swab & others like to up sale....

If there is "Glazing" on the rotors then you will need to resurface the rotors, providing that the rotor thicknesses don't measure below the service limit specifications.

Front brake rotor Maximum refinishing limit: 21mm
That means the rotor thickness MUST be a Minimum of 21mm to be considered usable.
Otherwise the rotors will need to be replaced.

Also if there are NO leaks in the brake system, the reason the brake fluid would look low is because the brake pad thickness has decreased causing the brake caliper piston to push in the pads further out against the rotors. This causes the brake fluid level to lower inside the brake master cylinder.

Remember, there should be no need whatsoever to add any brake fluid to the brake hydraulic system.
There are two reasons for the brake fluid to be low:
1) Brakes are worn
2) There is a leak or leaks in the brake hydraulic system, which MUST be addressed immediately.
