Honda Repair: 1991 Honda Accord Wagon, honda motor co, balancer shaft seal

I have an oil leak from behind the timing belt cover. I had an leak 10,000 miles prior (one year ago) and they replaced the three gaskets, 1) Auxiliary Shaft seal 2) Camshaft Seal and 3) Crankshaft Seal. Today, they say the oil leak is from the Oil pump Gasket "A" and Oil Pump Gasket "B". Is this possible? They warranty their work for 18000 miles or 18 months. Not sure if they are telling the truth versus their original work on the camshaft and crankshaft seal is not good. Is the Oil pump gasket in the same place as these other seals and could they being telling the truth?

I am assuming that by saying "Auxiliary Shaft Seal" you mean "Balancer Shaft Seal".

A very common and "Known" problem with Honda's from 1990 to 1997 is the "Balancer Shaft Seal" that backs it's way out, and causes an extreme oil leak and a "Big" mess.

Fortunately Honda Motor Co. has come up with a solution with that problem.

Honda designed a "Balancer Shaft Seal Retainer" that bolts directly to the engine, and keeps the seal in place.

This is why I love Honda and their products. They acknowledge the problems and they come up with solutions. "Even when they don't have to".

It is possible that this establishment either doesn't know about this improvement, or they simply did not install the retainer. Providing, the leak is from the balancer shaft seal.

As far as the oil pump seal, it is located in the same general area, behind the Lower timing belt cover.

I myself have had two cases where the oil pump 0-rings were in fact leaking, in the past 25 years.
