Honda Repair: 1989 Honda Accord LX 4, cylinder, 4 Door, No Ignition Spark, tdc mark, 1989 honda accord

Question
1989 Honda Accord LX, 4 cylinder, 4 Door, No Ignition Spark
I was driving my Honda when all of the sudden it died, had it towed home, checked the spark plugs, checked spark plug wires, checked distributor cap, checked distributor rotor, checked fuses under the hood, checked fuses under the dash and replaced the ignition coil. Getting gas to the carb ok, starter cranks the engine ok, had a timing light in line with the number one spark plug when cranking, timing light would not light. Can you tell me if there is something missing that I should check?
Thanks in advance
Patricia.

Answer
Patricia, are you getting spark? Unplug one of the spark plug wires and take a screwdriver and hold it, hovering, above the ground source to see if there is spark. If there is, timing jumped teeth. If not replace the distributor. Then, unscrew oil cap and make sure valves are moving up and down to see if you maybe snapped the timing belt. You might have jumped timing as well. Top dead center the crank and see if the head lines up with the TDC mark as well.
