QUESTION: Depending on how hard I accelerate, I normally go into the overdrive mode at about 50 mph, around 2500 rpms.  It drops to about 2000 rpms but will continue to miss? up to about 65 mph (somewhere around 3000 rpms)at which point I think I am going fast enough that I don't feel it anymore.

Answer
Looks like you may have a problem with the EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) valve &/or EGR passages.
Check EGR valve operation & make sure the EGR valve passages are clean & not plugged.
EGR valve operates at 2500 RPM + or - 500 RPM. If the lift is insufficient or the passages are clogged it will show the symptoms that you are seeing.
