Honda Repair: 95 honda accord, vehicle speed sensor, honda accord lx

Question
Where do I find the VSS on an automatic honda accord lx? And my "D" light flashes on occasion, what should I do about it?

Answer
The vehicle speed sensor is located on the top of the transmission towards the back near the firewall. If you are standing at the passenger side fender & look at the transmission, look on the left side of the tranny sorta under the intake manifold & you should see a gray three pin electrical connector plugged into the VSS. This three pin connector plugs into the electrical portion of the VSS & is usually the reason the speedometer stops working. If the D light is flashing, then there is a problem in the transmission system. You will have to have the transmission control unit scanned in order to find out the problem. You probably have a worn out vehicle speed sensor. They run around $165.00 from a dealer
