Honda Repair: Wet Floors, radiator fluid, water holes

Question
QUESTION: I own a 93 Honda Accord and I've been having problems with it. For a whole month now my floors keep getting wetter and wetter..it's like a swamp inside. There are no indications of water trails coming in from the sunroof, windows or doors. Only the floors are wet..soaking wet. The seats are fine. Sometimes while driving I hear a sound like a tank of water is splashing around. My trunk was about 2 inches deep in water, no indication of where water came from. I tested if there was leaks, but none showed. The drunk dried up, but the floors inside the car are still soaking wet. I asked this question on Yahoo and they said it could be a 'heater core' problem or something. I have no idea what that is, nor do I know how to fix it. I don't want to take it to the auto shop, I'd rather repair it myself. Know what it could be? anyway for me to fix it? If so I would like to know how. Thanks

ANSWER: Hi Chris, you have some major leaks going on and the leaks are depositing inside your vehicle. Does it smell like radiator fluid? Or maple syrup? These would indicate a heater core problem. But I think 1,2,3, or 4 of your sunroof drains are clogged causing them to overflow and drain directly inside the base of the vehicle. Including the trunk too. Do you park under a tree that creates a lot of debris? If you want to test to see if your sunroof drains are clogged, remove the head liner. This will expose the [4] plastic/clear tubes at each corner of the sunroof. Disconnect each tube, use pressurized air to blow out, add some water and see if this is the problem? Let me know if this helps...

QUESTION: I have a huge tree and the branches are atleast 30 yards away from my car. But I do have alot of leaves on top of my car. But could a sunroof drainage clogg cause my whole floor to be soaking wet like someone has used a water holes inside of my car? This happend in one day. One day it was dry, next morning it was soaking wet..and it didn't rain the night before. But I will sure give it a check. Thanks

Answer
Chris, yes it can. What it will do is fill up with water and about a month down the road split and leak into the car. Because if you tear down the head liner you will see that the hoses are actually inside your car and if they split they deposit on your floor. Ive had a couple cars like this. If it doesnt smell like radiator fluid then it is not your heater core and that leaves a leaky window for the next common source of water. Which a window wouldnt cause that much water to deposit and/or it would be centralized in one area not everywhere? Try using a hose and checking for leaks inside? Try angling the car on a steep hill and see if this drains and look for the escape passages? Let me know if this helps you...
