Honda Repair: 1992 accord broke heat/ac cable on selector, intermediate skill level, auto recycler

Question
I recently broke the cable on the heat/ac selector. How hard is it to replace? I can't seem to find the part online to order, how much does it cost to do it my self, do I have to remove the glove box?

Answer
Hi Susan, it's a difficult/intermediate skill level you are attempting. There is not a lot of room and having the proper tools and know how of where the lines run too would help. Cost? Reasonable. It would definitely be cheaper if you purchased the part from a Honda auto recycler and then took it too a Honda repair shop you trust. Labor is by the book and hourly rates are applied repair shop to repair shop. So do your homework. Or you can ask the Honda auto recycler if they recommend a repair shop? Let me know if this helps?
