Honda Repair: cylinder 2 and 3 does not work, compression ratios, valve job

Question
hey i got i little problem here. i'm just a home mech. i got a 95 honda accord with a f22b1 engine that got overheated really bad. but the engine never stop runing. but cylinder 2 and 3 were not working properly. so i took off the cylinder head and send it to a machine shop to resurfes and get the valve job. the guy there show me the escape in the valves set 2 and 3, and 1 and 4 did'nt have a escape. so they did the job and i put every thing back together but i still have the same problem with 2 and 3. i check if there is spark and yes there is spark. and right now i'm stock here. i do not know what else can be the problem or if i need to get a new engine or if is something else. i will realy aprecciate your help on this. thank you

Answer
Hi Raul, check your compression ratio across all cylinders. Verify that they are similar/close in numbers. You might have a warped engine block if the numbers are way off due to compression loss. With this done you should know whether you need to start shopping for a long/short block. If compression ratios are similar/close verify that you are getting fuel and air because you already have spark. I hope this helps...
