Honda Repair: 1997 Honda Power Door Lock actuator, interior door panel, phillips screws

Question
The power door lock actuator on my 1997 Honda Accord wgn passenger door buzzes when you lock the door. I have removed the interior door panel, but I cannot see how to remove the actuator. There does not appear to be any screws etc that I can feel inside the door panel. How is it attached?

Answer
Hi Len, the actuator is there somewhere... Remove the door panel. Have you tried removing the plastic covering from the door itself? It is held on by some nasty glue/sticky type material around the border of the plastic sheet. Remove that. Then trace the metal rod from the door lock itself and it should take you right to the actuator. When you mean actuator, I assume you mean, the motor that actually moves the door lock from the lock to unlock position? If so, and depending if anyone has replaced this part, it is usually mounted to a solid surface, i.e. the door itself. Fasteners could be pop rivets, 10 or 8mm bolts, and maybe even Phillips screws. There should be 2 of them. The actuator should be black in color with a white tip with a hole in it to where the metal rod is attached.

(Remember you may not actually be able to physically see the actuator but you will see the fasteners mounting it to the door, etc.) Let me know if this helps...
