Honda Repair: Gear Shift Lock and Brake lights., brake light switch, blown fuse

Question
As you can guess my gear shift lock turned on and my brake lights are not working. I replaced the Brake light switch with no success. What is my next step?

Answer
Hey Tim,

The brake light switch is usually always the culprit when it comes to the problems you are describing. I would say first check the the fuses and make sure you don't have a blown fuse. Check both underhood and underdash fuses. I would then check and make sure you installed the switch properly, check to see if it is adjusted properly, and if both are OK you may have gotten a bad switch. Hope this helps, let me know what you find and feel free to contact me in the future if you have any additional questions.
