Honda Repair: Timing 95 Civic DX 1.5, timing belt replacement, reputable repair facility

Question
Thank You Very Much in Advance.
I have a 95 Honda Civic DX  I Had them as a routine maintenance do a timing belt replacement on my car.
A month later my distributor went out and they took it in and replaced it.  Now the car misses or pulses shifting you can feel it lug.   I took my timing light and checked it and it is  off ,but the distributor is advanced far as it will go .  Can you tell me what has happend or what needs to be done kinda. It will run but, is not zippy like it was. Thank  You Jeff Price

Answer
Hi Jeff,

It sounds to me like they are a tooth off on the timing belt. Especially if that didn't happen until they completed that repair. They probably have the distributor advanced to compensate. My advice would be to take it back to them and explain the situation. If it is a reputable repair facility they should step up to the plate and handle your concern. I have seen aftermarket distributor rotors cause a similar problem so if they used a cheap distributor rotor I would suspect that as well. Hope this helps. Good luck! Feel free to contact in the future if you have any other concerns and let me know what happens!
