Honda Repair: 99 honda odyssey, honda odyssey, best guess

My 99 odyssey keeps dying. This happens when I am driving- more frequently when I have breaked and am trying to accelerate? I hear a dinging noise from the dash and all the lights come on then the car freezes, breaks are hard to push down. I am able to turn car off and restart. Any ideas?

my best guess here is the ignition pod.
it screws onto the back of the cylinder you put your key in. it isnt hard to change yourself if you want to go for it.

but the way you describe it, it could be a number of loose electrical connections. so i don't want to say for sure.

you're best taking it somewhere to have it looked at in person.

the lights coming on means the engine already died.
