Honda Repair: 1998 CRV Radiator, radiator hoses, spring clamps

Question
Hi Nolan
I have a '98 CRV and today the radiator started leaking.  I just had an injector replaced yesterday, and coincidentally today my radiator is leaking.  My dad and I would like to try to replace it ourselves.  My dad's taught me a lot about cars.  He's a real jack-of-all trades.  We found the side clamps to be a little testy, and we want to be sure we're doing things right.  Could you give us a step-by-step on taking the old radiator out please?  We'd be grateful.
Thanks.

Answer
Hi Sharon,

Hope this isn't getting to you after the fact but I'll try to walk you thru it! It's really very easy!
1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses, and
ATF cooler hoses.
3. Disconnect the fan motor connector.
4. Remove the radiator upper bracket, then pull up the
radiator.
5. Remove the fan shroud assemblies and other parts
from the radiator. Swap over all parts from the old one to the new one.
6. Install the radiator in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE:
• Set the upper and lower cushions securely.
• Fill the radiator with engine coolant and bleed the air.
I also recommend replacing the spring type factory clamps with 4 new regular style hose clamps. Once the factory installed spring clamps have been taken off they are very prone to seepage and leakage. Changing all  clamps keeps this from happening. Hope this helped! If you have any questions in the future please feel free to contact me.
