Honda Repair: 1992 Accord Dx, oil gauge, passenger dash

Question
I have had my '92 Accord Dx for 4 years.  It has 213,000 miles on it.  Just at 210,000 miles i started to have problems.  First, until recently every so often i would get into my car, start it and the D4 light would blink.  It would usually go away once i turned off my car.  Now it has just started to do it constantly for about a week and a half.  Secondly, when i drive on the interstate for a while, once i get off and am at a stop light, the oil light starts to "spudder" on, then when i start to drive, it blinks... what could this be?

Answer
a main relay can do that with the tranny light. there is a ecu -> tranny ecu communication line that goes through the relay. but i wont say that for sure.
what you need to do is next time it stays on, get a paper clip and under the passenger dash (about right under the glove box) you will see a blue 2prong plug. it could be stuffed around anywhere from others that have used, just dig around. jump that together and the check engine light and the D light will flash a code. slow blinks are 10, 20, 30, etc, and fast blinks are single digits.

the oil light is probably just that. when the light blinks it will do so until the car is shut off. that means the oil pressure has fallen to low. *BUT* don't go assuming the worst. take it to a shop and have them put an oil gauge on it. this requires taking out the sender and screwing the gauge in. which can be a pain in the a$$ top get to, but you need to be sure of what is actually going on.
