Honda Repair: dash lights, dash lights, honda dealer

The illumination of the speedometer, odometer, etc. is out. I looked in my owner's manual and all it tells about is how to increase/decrease the illumination. There is no listing in the book for a fuse or a bulb that illuminates these gages. All other indicator lights are working as well as the headlights, wipers, etc. Do you know if the illumination of the dash is connected to a certain fuse or bulb? I checked the fuses and bulbs but cannot see one that looks like its shorted out or burned out. My Honda dealer said they would charge me $76/hr to see if there was a fuse, etc. I really don't want to pay that if it is something simple that I can replace.

does your interior light work? if so its just the actual bulbs in the dash, if not, check all fuses with a multimeter or line light to make sure that the fuse is stable and make sure to check the fuses in the engine bay
