Honda Repair: AC Compressor Clutch on 1999 Accord, compressor clutch, catastrophic failure

Question
My 1999 Accord EX started making a clunking noise during idle about 6 months ago.  The noise has gotten progressively worse and when I used a long wrench (one end to ear other end to parts of engine) to isolate the sound I found that the sound was loudest and best defined when I touched it to the AC compressor.
I took the car into a local well respected repair shop, and they said that it wasn't loud enough to isolate it to the AC Clutch.  They did loosen the belt and said that the pully had some wobble to it.
Any suggestions as to where to go from here.  I'm trying to avoid a catastrophic failure that would require compressor replacement and the inherent high costs associated with that.

Answer
Nothing you can do to prevent failure.  There is no adjustment or anything you can do to fix it.  Sorry.  Just start saving your money to fix it when it fails and run it till it dies would be my recommendation.  Don't usually see failure from the pulley.  Its usually the compressor. Have replaced a few of them.  If the dealership does it, they will require the compressor, clutch, coil, both rubber lines and the receiver/dryer in order to warranty them.
