Honda Repair: 1994 Honda Passport, honda passport, ac generator

6 cyl, 155,000 miles. Fuse number 8 is blowing when I start the vehicle or just running down the road with no power accessories on.  The manual lists this fuse as controlling the AC Generator, back up lights. All wiring seems in great condition. Can a faulty AC Generator such as overcharging cause the fuse to blow.
I tried even a 30A fuse to get it home but still blows that one.  Where should I look first?

No experience with that one.  That fuse powers a lot of stuff so its going to be fun to figure out where its shorted to ground.  Its possible to be the alternator.  You can unplug the alternator and see if it still blows the fuse.  Sorry I can't be more help but electrical problems are always fun to find and usually not the same problem twice.
