Honda Repair: dancing idle and hesitation/backfiring, vacuum leaks, air filter oil

Question
yes the engine runs a little bit better, also after starting up when the engine has been sitting for a while and has cooled off, ill start it and the engine RPMs start dancing around from like 1.5 - 3k if i tap the gas it will level off at like 2 - 2.3k does that usually happen with 02 sensor problems?

Yes, the check engine light comes on after the car warms up. The engine RPMs at idle will drop from warm up at about 2k to around 800-1000rpm. Anytime i go to have the code checked nothing comes up. Any idea?

Hi, I have a 1992 Prelude si 2.3L 5speed, its got 191k and its been
running really good up until recently. I just bought the car about 2
months ago. My problem is, sometimes when i step on the gas in a lower rpm
<2k the engine sounds really deep and starts hesitating and on occation
it backfires, but after 2k rpm it runs alright. Also even when im at
normal cruising speed @ about 50-60mph if i floor the gas the car
hesitates then goes. This is very frustrating, i recently changed the fuel
filter, air filter, oil, plugs, wires. Im thinking its either the cap and
rotor, or the injectors/pump/rail. Also sometimes after pushing in the
clutch the rpms will fall to zero and the car will stall out, it seems to
happen more on hot days then any other time, this also occurs if I tap
the gas while idling it will rev up then choke out. please help me out
asap. thanks a million.

Answer -
Is the check engine light on?

Answer -
Sounds like it may be a o2 sensor problem.  Does the engine run better after the check engine light comes on?

Answer
Idle speed fluxuation is usually either the fast idle valve or the air speed control valve.  Also remove the air intake tube from the throttle body and place your hand over the throttle body and see if you can kill the engine.  If it dies, then you don't have any vacuum leaks.
