Honda Repair: 98 Civic 3rd Brake light, plyers, needle nose

Question
I'm trying to change my 3rd brake in my 1998 Honda Civic. I believe it's burned out. I opened up the trunk to try to pull out the light bulb but it won't seem to budge. Got any hints or suggestions on how to get it out of there? Thanks for your time.

Answer
I have sometimes had to take a pair of plyers and twist the socket.  That bulb gets very hot and sometimes causes the socket to melt a little.  You may want to try that.  I have used needle nose plyers and went between some of the grooves on the socket and twisted that way to keep from breaking the socket.
