Honda Repair: 1997 Honda Accord, oil pressure switch, valve cover gasket

Question
My brother (original owner) has not had any ROUTINE maintenance done on his '97 Accord (80,000 mi)other than faithful 3 month oil changes. Has had brake work done and tires replaced. It idles rough and died on me a couple times at stop signs. Did see a puff of white smoke from exhaust a couple times. Took it to dealer for "tune-up" and once-over to check for problems. Dealer says it is leaking oil all over. Said it needs rocker arm seals, valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, oil pressure switch, outer CV boots, timing belt/water pump replacement. Also front motor mount is broken, and the radiator needs replaced (new, not recore). Seem reasonable for car's history? What can we expect to pay? Thanks much!!

Answer
Cheryl, Yes I've seen all these things go in time and it is possible considering the repair history. I'd put in an aftermarket rad(150). HONDA wants a forune for a new one(750). I can't really quote an amount due to parts cost and labour differences. I can tell you it would take approx. 6-7 hours to complete the mentioned parts. When they are replacing the timing belt and correcting the oil leak concerns another common oil leak is from under the timing belt cover from the cam oil seal and front balance shaft oil seal. Did the tune-up correct the stalling issue and rough idle? I'm concerned about the white smoke in the exhaust which indicates coolant entering the cylinders. Let me know how you make out. RICK
