Honda Repair: 97 Prelude cuts out while driving, honda prelude, electrical portion

Question
My 97 honda prelude has a hard time starting and sometimes it runs for a while then just cuts out while Im driving or while at standstill. I understand that there is a ignition recall for my car outstanding. I know its getting fuel. It wants to start everytime but once you let go of the key it will not always run. If you could give me any insight to this problem it would be greatly appreciated.

Answer
Tony, if when it starts and you let go of the key it dies you definitely have an ignition switch(electrical portion)problem. The contacts in the electrical portion of the switch(which is part of the recall)are worn causing poor contact in the run position causing the car too die(no power to components)Make an appointment and have the recall performed and your problems will go away. Tony, sorry but yes, when it dies while driving, this is a symptom of the ignition switch failing. RICK
