Honda Repair: 1993 Honda Accord EX ( five-part question ), temp guage, power antenna

Question
Greetings Bill!

I actually have five questions for you, so I hope you don't feel overwhelmed. I have a 1993 Honda Accord EX (126k, 5-speed, 2.2 liter) and the timing belt has already been replaced.

Question 1:
When I shift and begin moving into 1st gear I hear two odd sounds. The first sound is some weird 'whirling' noise coming from when I depress the accelerator.  The second noise (and feel) is a slight 'clunk' when I take off, although no performace is lost whatsoever. I was told that it might be the driveshaft.  Any ideas as to what are causing BOTH of these noises?

Question 2:
For some reason, regardless how long I warm up my car or how long I drive it, the temp guage always reads near cold.  Why is this and how do I fix it?

Question 3:
When I start/shut off my car, I can hear the power antenna's motor moving in the back, although the antenna stays still.  Not to mention that it's super loose.  How do I fix this, or should I just replace it (and how)?

Question 4:
My car idles at just under 1,000rpm.  Now I know this isn't super high, but I also know it should run a little lower.  Why is it doing this and how do I fix it?

Question 5:
When I'm on a bumpy road or I run over a slight road imperfection, the passenger-side window sounds like it's shaking a lot.  How do I fix that?! It's very frustrating to hear all the time.

I guess that's it.  Thanks for any/all your help and I hope I asked some questions that others are needing help with!  Have a nice day.

Answer
Rich, The clunk could be the transaxle mounts, damaged driveaxle or a motor mount or something in the front suspension, hard to say but it should be fairly easy to diagnosis by a mechanic listening to it since the noise is consistent. See if you can isolate it more closely. As for the whirling noise when taking off in 1st gear may be a damaged or worn synchronizer. The problem with the temperature gauge may be the gauge itself or something in the cooling system. I would change the thermostat to see if that makes a difference; if no difference you need to check the gauge to see if it is faulty before looking at the water pump or radiator. I'm not a fan of the power antenna, there is a piece that goes into the antenna and hooks to a motor, that is probably broke. You can replace the antenna with a new one or just buy an antenna that is not electric and be done with it. There is an idle adjustment on the throttle body that will allow you to adjust the idle down. As for the window you will need to loosen the door hinge to get a better fit for the window.
I would suggest you purchase a repair manual for about $18 from an auto parts store and there are step-by-step instructions that should help.
Good luck.
