Honda Repair: 1986 honda prelude si 5spd 5th gear disappeared, 1986 honda prelude, honda prelude

Question
 This morning I was driving to work and the fifth gear just disappeared and my car felt like it was popped into neutral.  I changed the gear fluid about 5 months ago with about 2.5qts of 10w-30 motor oil. All other gears work fine, can this be fixed with out removing the tranny and how much do you think it will cost

Check the fluid level of your transmission. I had this happen to me before and it was due to a lack of transmission fluid.
If it is the transmission, the entire unit will have to be removed to fix. I would estimate about $1000.
