when i turn on the heat and let my car heat up it heats up just fine and nice and hot. But when I start to drive then heat cools off and will stay that why until i sit at light for a while or just park and it heats up all over again nice and hot. Is it my thermostat or what? please help me. And when I trun off my car sometimes it acts like it wants to keep running what is the problem on that? please help me.

Keke:
The over heating problem is probably either your thermostat, water pump or radiator. I would change the thermostat since it is cheap and easy to do. Look inside your radiator to see if the holes are plugged up, if they are you probably should take it to a radiator shop. If the thermostat does not fix the problem and the radiator looks good, you will need to replace the water pump.
Good luck.

Forgot to mention about the dieseling problem you are having could be related to car running too hot.

Bill my car isn't over heating my heater is cooling
down once i start to drive. But when it sits still it heats back up just fine. But once I start to drive it just cools off, my meter to let me know if the car is warm goes down to cold only when i'm driving. and the other question was when i trun my car off the engines get turning like it doesn't want to shut off. What is the problem?

Answer
Keke, Sorry I was not clear in my answer, but over all what I said about what to do is what I meant. This is a common problem I have dealt with. Check the radiator, replace the thermostat and see if the problem is fixed, if not you will need to replace the water pump. Now for the dieseling, that is usually caused from the timing not being set correctly.
Hopefully this is a little clearer, let me know if not I'll keep trying.
