Honda Repair: honda repair electrical, honda repair, bad hope

Question
hi i have a honda accord 1993 2.2 engine i dont know if it is lx, dx or ex. one day it heated up and i took the thermostat out and it worked fine for like 5 minutes. i turned it off and then i turned it on again and it wouldnt turn on. i moved the high flow air intake then it worked... i dont think that is the problem. i bought a coil and it didnt work i baught new spark plug cables it didnt work. i baught a ignition control module it turned on for a while and then it didnt work again. it's extremely rare for it to start... some times i have to step on the gas for it to start and it will start but then when i'm on the high way it will turn off and die.luckily it turned on again and i was able to get home. i know it's not the gas pump because i know that the cable that goes from the coil to the distributor does not send a spark to the distributor... i have been without my car for about 3 weeks i dont tknow what to do. when i try to start it it tries to start but it wont... maybe it's the ignition switch... please i really neeed help with this i'm breaking my head here with my car... sorry this is so long but please respond i need some help by the way my car was stolen for like 2 weeks and now i have it back it's been like amonth since i got it.... but no wires around the steering wheel look peeled. no fuses are gone either thanks...

Roger:
If there is no spark from the coil to the distributor you will need to check for voltage to the coil on the primary circuit from the ignition switch. The ignition switch is pricey so you want to make sure it is bad before you replace it. Based on what you have said I think you either have a bad ignition switch or the wiring is bad.
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
