Hello,
I just recently installed an alternator on my 1998 Accord EX V6. After the installation of the alternator as well as new belts, I am leaking fluid from the fill cap of the power steering revervior. I have double checked the belt routing and it is correct. Does this mean that the power steering pump is bad? If not, what could be causing this problem?

Please advise.

Thanking you in advance,

Phil Shaffer

Phil:
As long as you power steering is working, the pump should be okay, you will just need to fix the leak.
Good luck.

Answer
Phil:
You will need to clean off the reservoir and fill it up. Turn the car on and make sure the power steering pulley is working correctly. The reservoir may be cracked and leaking. You should be able to replace the reservoir to fix the problem.
Good luck.
