Honda Repair: 1987 Honda Accord retractable headlamps, retractable headlamps, blown fuse

Question
What raises the retractable headlamps?  Are they both operated by a single motor?  Do they open automatically when the headlamps switch is turned on?  What could cause them to open but not turn on the headlamps?  Is this a common problem?  Thanks in advance!

Answer
Ken:
There are motors for each headlight and they are supposed to open when the lights are turned on. If the lights are not working you need to check to make sure they both did not burn out at the same time (highly unlikely), a blown fuse or problems in the wiring. This is not a common problem, keep in mind your car is 18 years old.
Good luck.
