Honda Repair: 97 Accord LX Front Brakes, wheel bearings, hub hub

Question
Hey Bill,
I am attempting to replace the rotors on a 1997 Honda Accord LX. This seems to be the year in which Honda placed the wheel hub on the outside of the brake rotor. I was told in order to remove the hub you will need to use a slide hammer to pull the hub. My question is how will I re-install the hub after replacing the rotors without causing any damage to the wheel bearings. Does honda make a tool to install the hub, hub installer? I have seen this tool for other makes and vehicles? -Ed

Answer
Ed:
In order to remove the rotors you will need to remove the hub/knuckle assembly and when you do that the wheel bearings will have to be replaced. You will need a press to remove and install the bearings. You cannot reuse the wheel bearings. Yeah, I know, nice design. That is probably why it only lasted for '96 and '97 models.
Good luck.
