Honda Repair: water pump??? starter????, coolant leaks, radiator hose

Question
i have 90 honda accord. I have two problems, both problems showed after i had crack in my radiator hose which i have relaced ( where coolant spilled all over the engine bay) and engine over heated. After this incident i have hard time starting the car once every other day, may be it is fuel relay because engine bogs (dont think it is temperature related) a little on idle(didnt do that before the incident) or maybe it is the starter. some time it starts fine and some time it take numerous attempt(it does crank and turn over). (may be some residues have built up around commutator in starter after the incident, reducing power delivered to fire up the ignition) or could it be the distributor with some residue. Second, coolant leaks(have to top it off every 100 miles) and it is comming from inner lower left side of engine block. Is this where water pump is located at? Could water pump seal be dried out and broken bronken? due to previous engine over heat? How difficult is it to replace stater and water pump? and what are their cost? thank you

Answer
Dan:
As for the starting problem, the starter is not too difficult to replace if you have some know how. You may want to first check the connections to the starter to make sure they are clean and solid. Starter should cost around $120. You can have the starter checked at just about ant auto parts store for free. As for the water pump, it sounds like the seal is broke and needs to be replaced, this is not too difficult, and a rebuilt WP should cost about $60. If you are inclined to do the work yourself, invest about $15 in a repair manual also.
Good luck
