Honda Repair: 92 honda accord, honda accord, accord coupe

Question
I am thinking about buying this car (92 accord coupe 4 cyl). It will start and run for approx 5 minutes then it shuts off and will not start again. Not sure what has been looked at on the car so far. It seems after the engine is cooled down it will start again, run for 5 minutes and die again. The car drives ok during the few minutes that it is running. It has an after market alarm system on it, don't think this is causing it though. thanks for any info... Jody

If the alarm has a shut-off mechanism, it may be activating when it shouldn't. Sounds like there is a problem in the fuel delivery or a corroded connection. When it dies, you need to find out if its fuel or spark and then go from there. First you should make sure your connections to and from the battery are all clean and tight. Also check the air filter to make sure it is clean and not being restricted.
