Honda Repair: ENGINE OVER HEATING, radiator shop, honda prelude

Question
I HAVE AN 85 HONDA PRELUDE WITH 1.8 ENGINE.THEENGINE KEEPS RUNNING VERY HOT.PUT NEW THERMOSTAT IN IT.REPLACED A LEKING HOSE. STILL RUNNING HOT. HOW WOULD I KNOW IF IT IS THE RADIATOR OR WATER PUMP MAYBE?

Answer
Lavonda:
You can look inside radiator after you take cap off to see if any of the holes are clogged up but you can only see a few, the best way would be to have someone test it at a radiator shop. If it tests okay then it would be a safe bet the water pump is bad. You can also squeeze the lower hose from the radiator (with the engine running) and see if it has any pressure, if there is no pressure that would indicate the WP is bad. With a car 20 years old you may have a bad (clogged) radiator and water pump.
Good luck.
