Honda Repair: Electrical, honda prelude, prelude 2

Question
88 Honda Prelude 2.0 S  Automatic
The car started everyday.  Then I had to jump it if it sat over the week end.  Then it went to every couple days.  Now it has to be jumped everytime you get in it.  It drives perfectly, even if I turn it off just to get gas, I have to jump it to start it again.  I have been having trouble with the switch that turns on the headlights.  I have to back the switch a bit in order for the headlights and tail lights to come on.  If I don't then only the headlights are on and no dash lights or tail lights.  I was told a while back that the switch had to be replaced on the steering column.  But, would this cause the car to not start and have to be jumped?  The battery is good, its been checked.  The car does not hold a charge at all.

Michelle:
I know you say the battery has been checked and it checks good, but I would still suspect the battery. If the battery is three or older I would be tempted to replace it.
Does the charging light come on on the dash? You may have a bad alternator. Another thing that it could be is a bad ground. I don't think the two problems are related, the lights and not starting.
Good luck. Please send a follow-up and let me know how this turns out.
