Honda Repair: Internal lights on 92 Civic, dash lights, loose wire

Question
I have a 1992 Civic with one problem. The dash lights have a mind of their own. Most of the time they do not work, sometimes they do. Obviously not a fuse problem, and we have checked the grounding also. It is not a wire because bumps, and banging on the dashboard do nothing. We think it is a relay, but aren't sure how to fix that, or where to locate the "problem" relay. If you have any information, I would appreciate it, because god knows its unsafe to continue riding like this! Thanks so much.

Erica:
I believe you have a loose wire some where causing the intermittent failure. You might want to check the dash board dimmer switch to see if it has a bad connection. There are several relays, but they operate higher output items, like the cooling fan.
Good luck.
